Strategy for Sanofi.
Sanofi retained Colliers Project Leaders to conduct a strategic market study in order to rationalize a portfolio of leased administrative office spaces in greater Massachusetts. Sanofi’s approximately 2,300 administrative employees occupy 700,000 +/-square feet of office space located in various locations in Cambridge and Framingham. This includes the 343,000 square foot, LEED Platinum Genzyme Center in Cambridge; an architectural “tour de force” and a point of pride for Genzyme before the company was acquired by Sanofi.
We surveyed the market and determined no less than 50 possible relocation scenarios. Ultimately 10 different scenarios were modeled for Sanofi, including a combination which retains Genzyme Center as the “Jewel Box” of the real estate portfolio even though it does not adhere to corporate standards.
