Expanding labs and office space.
Conagen, a leader in biosynthesis and bio-manufacturing, hired Colliers Project Leaders for the expansion of their B13 laboratory, office, and administrative spaces into an adjacent vacant shell space.
Colliers was brought on after changes in the design team and project approach, providing oversight on the transition of the team while maintaining the original construction schedule. We worked with the client to review contracts and fees for the new delivery process and assisted with proposals. Additionally, the Colliers’ commissioning team was hired to perform commissioning services.
Colliers played an essential role in resolving issues and establishing transparency between the client, CM, and A/E team, including the collaboration for the larger water service line upgrade solution that needed to occur without trenching or cutting into the newly paved roads. Additionally, we managed the new electrical transformer upgrade, coordinating with Eversource for line upgrades and approvals.
Colliers provided open communication and excellent management of the project after major changes, ensuring the 26-week construction schedule was maintained. In addition to project management services, including bid management, contractor and vendor procurement, coordination of construction activities, monitoring and management of construction changes and project finances, maintaining the master plan, and coordination of Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment (FF&E), Colliers also provided commissioning services to ensure all systems were operating and performing appropriately.
