TOLEDO, OH – July 26, 2023 – Colliers Project Leaders | USA, a division of Colliers Engineering & Design, is excited to announce the hiring of Roberto “Rob” Vela Jr., as Geographic Discipline Leader for fast-growing markets in the Midwest. Mr. Vela brings his vast engineering and project management experience to leading the Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan regions.
“Rob’s experience in construction, project management, and engineering will make him a valuable leader in this new market,” said Marc Sklenka, Discipline Leader, Project Management. “We are excited to welcome him to our team and look forward to seeing all we will accomplish together.”
Mr. Vela has served as project manager and owner’s representative on multiple large-scale projects in both Ohio and Michigan throughout his career. Some of his previous experience includes Ford Motor Company’s Headquarters and Generations of Care Tower at ProMedica Toledo Hospital.
Mr. Vela is responsible for overseeing projects during the pre-interview, pre-design, design, construction, and close-out phases, ensuring that the project meets the client’s budget, schedule, and quality expectations.
Mr. Vela holds a bachelor’s degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of Cincinnati. Outside of work, Mr. Vela is a member of the City of Perrysburg Planning Commission and participates in his children’s school’s Parent Activities Council.
